Over the course of the fall, Liam and I took swimming lessons together. It was big fun, though Liam rarely showed off his water skills in the pool. He loves bath time and will blow bubbles and splash and doesn't mind if he gets water in his eyes. At the pool it was a totally different story. He didn't mind having water in his eyes, but he wouldn't splash or blow bubbles or kick his feet, but it was still fun. The best part was that his friend from down the street took lessons with us.
Liam's best skill was the back float. The video is a bit long, but you'll notice Liam's nice, relaxed position. Maybe he's going to be next Olympic backstroker....
Another plus about swimming lessons was the fabulous park near the pool. Liam definitely had a lot of fun playing after each swim lesson.

We didn't realize how great an impact swimming lessons made on Liam until a week ago, when he started requesting to wear a swim diaper and his swimming suit over his clothes every day. Have you ever tried fitting a swim diaper and swimming suit over corduroy overalls?

Go Liam with the back float! That last photo is THE BEST.
Oh my Liam!! Great back float form! There is definitely swimming in your future. You almost looked like you were sleeping in the water. Maybe your swim attire will help you with snow protection. Nana misses you lots and lots! Big HUGS and KISSES to you, sweet Liam.
That swim diaper really makes me smile. Last night my Dad babysat, and Asa completely refused to allow him to take off his undies- so he slept all night with his undies UNDER his diaper. Made for a pleasant change this morning:). Silly toddlers! We send our love with the Mobleys this weekend!
Hey thanks for the informative post, Swimming classes should be something that a person takes up when young. Well I guess an adult can also take up swimming lessons. Never too young to try!
