A Growing Boy and an Anniversary

Today is a doubly special day. Liam is twenty-one months old today and it's our 11th wedding anniversary. Sadly, Wade and I are celebrating our anniversary on separate continents. It sounds like he's having a great time in Europe and Liam and I are having a great time here. To celebrate we went to dinner at the Rainbow Cafe with Liam's friend Anjali and her parents. The four of us had a wonderful night--Liam, however, was very sad. We've been to the restaurant before and Liam usually likes it, but tonight something scared Liam as soon as we got there and he spent the meal huddled in my lap, with his face buried in my chest, shaking. It was very sad for Liam and I'm sorry that he didn't enjoy the celebration.

Here's 21 fun facts about my sweet little boy.
1. He's getting so big--some of his 24-month clothes don't fit anymore.
2. His two favorite words right now are "moon" and "clock."
3. He loves the Wonder Pets!
4. His current favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and oranges.
5. Tonight before bed, we read "Llama, Llama Red Pajama," "What the Grizzly Bear Knows," "Have you ever Seen a Moose?" "Wild about Books," and "Born to Read."
6. Mr. Duck is still his favorite.
7. He painted his first watercolor the other day. It's beautiful though mostly wet since his favorite part was putting the brush in the water.
8. He gives kisses though he prefers to wave bye-bye. He waves to my Mom when I have her on speaker phone and she says good-bye. He even waves to the Backyardigans.
9. He still loves cookies.
10. He loves his Fisher Price school bus.
11. He can do the hand motions for the Itsy Bitsy Spider song.
12. He loves his Daddy!
13. He has recently learned to pray. Sometimes we pray five times during dinner because he asks too.
14. He has a quirky habit of smelling things.
15. When he sees cars in his books, he makes a car sound.
16. Liam's favorite letter is "K" on the starfall website.
17. Missy now spends every meal with her head resting in Liam's lap. This cuts out the bother of having to eat the food off the floor, she can just catch it as it falls. Missy loves it, Liam feels a bit crowded.
18. Lately Liam has taken to directing me where to go. If he's playing in his room, he brings me to the chair and pats it and says "down" so that I know to sit. I'm not allowed to do anything, but watch him play. If I try to read a book, he rips it out of my hand and says "no, no, no, no, no."
19. Also like his mama, he loves m&m's. (for the record he does not get to eat them by the handful like his mama.)
20. He still has the sweetest smile.
21. Today he wore his smart wool socks, striped red, green, and orange, and took them off at least ten times...because he could!
