Merry Christmas, Part Two

Christmas Day was wonderful! We missed our families, but so appreciated being in our own house and setting our own schedule. It was great for Liam. He was so sweet! He can say "thanks" now, but only to copy you and I don't think he has any idea what it means. In his own little way, he was clearly gracious on Christmas morning for all of his beautiful gifts. We let him set the pace and he would open a couple of presents and then he would play with them for an hour or two. After a bit he would pick something else from under the tree and we would begin again. Stopping to play and not just ripping through everything seemed like his own way of being gracious. Sadly, I have fabulous videos, but I can't get them to load very well, so the pictures will have to do.

The train set was a definite hit!

Liam now has a very exciting toy set-up. The Fisher Price Little People empire lives in the living room with the table and chairs. The train set lives in his bedroom. It was handy--we had Christmas and then it was like we got to move, but in our house to accommodate Liam's new toys. The first few nights after I changed his room around to fit the train table, Liam would wake up in the middle night screaming. When we would go into his room, he would stop crying as soon as we picked him up and then point at his train table and say "down...train." We had to put a stop to this because train playing at 2 in the morning isn't ideal!

Luckily for me, Liam has sorted this out. Wade left on Saturday with my Dad for the month in Europe teaching a history of science course. Liam and I are on our own until the 27th. We shall see how we manage. We have successfully managed the last 4 days, so I think we will be ok for the next 3 weeks!

So adorable! The train table looks awesome, and not at all smashed to bits. Christmas with little ones is the best!

Hi Liam, what was inside all those presents? Did you know that your mommy loves you even when you cry? I love you so much! Love,
Isabelle

Rachel, that video is precious! I remember trying to coax Isabelle into the living room to open presents when she was that age. It gets better!
