Lovely Little Lucy

This past week Little Lucy turned 4 months old. She is lovely fun every day! She is little...at her 4 month check-up, Lucy weighed in at 12 lbs., 9oz and was a mere 22 1/2 inches long. As best I can tell, there are people who birth babies as big as Lucy is now (I'm not sure how they live to tell the tale). Liam was a long and lean baby, so I never had the pleasure of seeing those chunky, round baby thighs, but our Little Lucy has them. Very sweet, but definitely challenging to keep clean! The many nooks and crannies seem to be a fabulous hiding place for the gallons of spit-up Lucy seems able to spit up each day. Miss Lucy is full of smiles and seems to be finding new skills each day.
Some fun facts about our Lucy...No matter when she last ate, she always spits up when she's on her changing table. It seems to be her favorite place...She loves her bath and kicks and splashes her feet. In fact she likes it so much, we got rid of the the Baby tub and just lay her in the actual tub...She has just made the move to 3-6 month sized clothing (mostly to accommodate her growing belly)...For a teeny, tiny little thing, she can hold her head up remarkably well and holds on to us when we hold her...She's no longer bald, her hair is finally coming in...I think she's going to end up with green eyes. Here she is in all of her loveliness...

This little dress was mine when I was a baby.

Just this week, Lucy got to try her first solid foods--rice cereal and applesauce. Liam was very excited about getting to help, which was really sweet, but also a bit challenging. Lucy is still sorting out the spoon and Liam seemed to think the best thing to do was to just shove it as far into her mouth as it could go.

This was the outfit I bought for Lucy to come home from the hospital in. In light of her wee littleness, I ended up picking something else out. Apparently a good choice, since she's only just worn it today for the first time...
